How You Can Help Us
The Children’s IBD Center at Mount Sinai welcomes support from interested families. There are many opportunities to support the Center:
Marathon Fundraiser – every November Team IBDkids fields a team of runners in the ING New York City Marathon to raise awareness about inflammatory bowel disease and funds for research, education and support for patients and families. You can help in this effort by becoming an event sponsor; by sponsoring a runner; volunteering to help with the marathon day brunch; or coming to cheer on Team IBDkids during the marathon.
Family Friends Program – this program links trained parent volunteers to families newly diagnosed with IBD to help them cope in a difficult time. We train interested, experienced parents & young adults who have grown up with IBD to talk to families either in the hospital, by telephone or via e-mail.
Programs and Lecture Series – attend educational programs held by the IBD Center and consider becoming a sponsor for programs and lecture series.
Become an Involved Parent – generously give your time and talent to help the IBD Center with programs and projects to further our cause to provide the best treatment and support for your children while searching for the cure for IBD. Volunteer for one of our programs. Your knowledge and influence can go a long way to moving us closer to our goal.
Kids 4 Kids is a program that encourages kids with IBD and their siblings and friends to help other kids who are hospitalized by creating kits in a bag to help hospitalized children and teens. Download the Kids 4 Kids project flyer.
We look forward to your involvement and participation. Please contact us at childrenibd@mssm.edu
