Run With Team IBDkids
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, together known as inflammatory bowel disease or “IBD”, are tough on kids. They cause inflammation, swelling and pain in the digestive tract and in children they can impair growth and development. There is no known cure for IBD. Kids with IBD know about endurance – they’re in it for the long haul. You can help them with your commitment, toughness and endurance by joining Team IBDkids.
We have a limited number of guaranteed entry spots in the ING New York City Marathon 2013.
How to Join Team IBDkids
Committing to run 26.2 miles for a charity is admirable and we’re honored you’re considering running with us. We usually look for runners with a special connection to Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.
- Runners who have the illness themselves or have a close family member with the illness
- Runners connected to an IBD family from their circle of friends, colleagues, firms or companies
- Runners who work in the medical or healthcare field with an interest in IBD or have a connection to Mount Sinai Medical Center
